Don’t skip the last picture

This next picture, is a fire rainbow – the rarest of all naturally occurring atmospheric phenomena. The picture was captured this week on the Idaho / Washington border. The event lasted about 1 hour.
Clouds have to be cirrus, at least 20.000 feet in the air, with just the right amount of ice crystals and the sun has to hit the clouds at precisely 58 degrees.

God’s handiwork. Beautiful sight! Pass along for others to see!!

Great pictures. What an experience. One of those I should add to my bucket list!
Beautifull. That´s it.
This is just *awesome* – the Great Spirit at work! ^_^
beautiful.
Just fabulous, and just what I was looking for as information to send to a teacher in Florida. Takes care of describing what ‘cold’ is… also, and the day/night factor you can experience. I need to know the Native Indian legion on the Northern Lights. Can you help me on how to get it?
I rememer reading it once and falling in love with the tale.
Again thank you for the wonderful photos. My husband was way up North in Tuktyactuk (sp.), along the Beaufort Sea, Inuvic and Yellowknife, many years ago with Health Services. I was relating this to my friend while in Florida last month, his experiences with the cold and day/night..24hrs. of night that he had to endure while there. That is how the mention of “Northern Lights” came to pass. So here I am doing some follow-up work to send to her for her students in grade 7.
Thanks again, Laurentiu
Did you mean Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, having lived in Yellowknife for 17 years, I am familair with Northern Canada and I have not ever heard of a Yellow Knife, Yukon. If these pictures were taken in the Yukon I would really like to know which community they were taken in.
